How Auto Match Works

Auto Match is an alternative to manually browsing Cook profiles. Instead of choosing a Cook yourself, you authorize PlatedUp to select an eligible Cook for you based on your booking details.

How it works

When you use Auto Match, you still choose what you want prepared, your timing, and your grocery preference. From there:

  • PlatedUp searches for an eligible Cook who fits your booking details and is available in your area.
  • An eligible Cook receives your booking offer.
  • If a Cook accepts, the required payment is processed.
  • Once payment succeeds, your booking becomes matched and confirmed.

Can I review the Cook first?

Once you're matched, you can view your Cook's profile and booking details. Auto Match doesn't include a separate step where you approve or reject the Cook PlatedUp matched you with — selecting Auto Match is how you authorize PlatedUp to choose an eligible Cook on your behalf. If you'd rather choose and approve a specific Cook yourself before booking, use Choosing a Cook instead.

If payment fails or no Cook is found

If the required payment doesn't succeed, your booking isn't confirmed — see Failed Payments.

If no eligible Cook is found for your requested time or area, your booking isn't confirmed — see What If No Cook Is Available?

Canceling

While PlatedUp is still searching for a Cook, you can cancel your Auto Match request. Once your booking is matched and confirmed, PlatedUp's normal cancellation policy applies — see Canceling an Order.

Good to know

Auto Match doesn't guarantee a Cook will be found; if you have a Cook you'd prefer to book directly, use Choosing a Cook instead.
